Emery County offers a variety of 4-H projects, including horse, livestock, sewing, foods, shooting sports, photography, entrepreneurship and entomology, among others. Emery County hosts the Southeastern Utah Junior Livestock Show, which hosts over 250 exhibitors from throughout the state.

Local youth have also excelled in horse events, with Emery County 4-H'ers placing first in the State 4-H Individual Show in each of the past three years. The Emery County Horse Bowl team placed first in the State 4-H Horse Bowl competition and earned fourth place in the National Contest in Denver. In the entrepreneurship project, youth learn business management and marketing skills as they set up their own "mini-society".
